Competitive Systems Analysis & Design
This research area examines interdependent decision-making situations in engineering and technological systems, where the interests of multiple decision-makers are intricately intertwined. Using game theory and mechanism design, we investigate rational strategies and actions that enable each participant to maximize their utility.
Our laboratory applies these approaches to the analysis of competitive systems in various real-world settings, including wireless communications, smart grids, platform businesses, and the electric vehicle industry.

Investment under Uncertainty
This research area analyzes investment and strategic decision-making under uncertainty, including uncertainty regarding competitors’ behavior and market conditions, using methods such as real options analysis.
Our laboratory develops real options theory and applies it to decision-making under uncertainty in areas such as R&D investment strategies, spectrum valuation, the economic value of renewable energy, and investment in electric vehicles.
