성연찬(Yeon Chan Seong)

성연찬,

Yeonchan Sung is a master’s student in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Seoul National University, researching at the Economic Analysis Laboratory. He earned his bachelor’s degree in the same department, gaining expertise in industrial engineering, quantitative analysis, and decision-making. He is deeply interested in the economic impact of industrial systems and investment strategies.

His research focuses on economic analysis and real options theory, especially in optimizing investment strategies under uncertainty. With industries facing rapid change, assessing project and policy feasibility is critical. He explores how real options theory applies to technology commercialization, capital investments, and policymaking.

Early in his master’s studies, Yeonchan aims to build expertise in economic modeling, financial engineering, and computational decision-making. His research integrates real options theory with data-driven methods to create adaptive economic models.

He is particularly interested in optimizing investment strategies for emerging technologies like renewable energy, AI, and smart manufacturing. These sectors demand large investments under uncertainty, where traditional valuation models fall short. Using real options analysis, he seeks to develop frameworks that support informed, flexible decision-making for businesses and policymakers.

In the long run, he hopes to contribute practical, data-driven solutions to academia and industry. He welcomes collaboration with researchers, professionals, and policymakers optimizing economic strategies in uncertain environments.
